“He grew up in the most popular neighborhood in a city with 2 million people.

He earns everything he possesses by fighting and winning the prize

He doesn’t pick his food or measure calories, yet he is still strong and very energetic

He believes in all the natural powers and places God at the top

He is an African boy

A boy whose history remains untold, ignored and undefended

A boy whose forehead was inclined, pushed back and played on

A boy whose intelligence was long minimized, disapproved and brushed aside

A boy whose intelligence was long minimized, disapproved and brushed aside

A boy whose opinions were rejected, disregarded and passed over. A

A boy whose future was neither considered important nor thought upon,

Yet he is the unforeseen power in his generation

Yet he is the engineer, the doctor or the lawyer that the world so long waited for

Yet he is the most polite, respectful, God-fearing individual in his generation

Yet he is the conqueror over colonization, racism, discrimination, hate and disapproval

He is an African boy.

He turns hatred into unconditional love

He changes dictatorships into strong democracies

He creates the true and just common wealth

He travels the world sharing peace, tolerance and joy

He creates music that brings happiness to the soul

He is writing his own history

Not a history of colonization, but of freedom

Not a history of mistreatment, but of glory

Not a history of degradation, but of dignity

He is the boy his fathers foresaw,

He is the true African boy.”
